Sally the Shy Dragon is a book aimed at small children. I have used a multi-media technique to heighten the effect of a fantasy character in a impressionist but real setting: a combination of innovation, imagination and an ability to see the world as Children would like it to be.

Characters are important particularly for children who are just begnning to read.

The artwork reflects what children want to read in their books and stories. I believe it is is almost more important to capture and underline the mood of a book, rather than resort to an artistic sleight of hand that disguises a poor story.

Cartoons or caricatures have instant appeal.

People like to laugh....and something that is both memorable and amusing is invaluable when it comes to advertising:

Many great performers are at their best when 'in character'.Marcel Marceau is one of those. The finese mime artist of all time, and an inspiration over many years for the artist Margaret Murray, whose clown paintings and drawings are collected by enthusiasts in Australia, France, America, Canada, Italy as well the United Kingdom.

They have been on exhibit in several venues in London including theatres and galleries.

Once the character has been sketched, it grows with the story line, until the time comes when it becomes part of the name, the title, the book, the product or animated films.
